His life in brief: Jack
Usine is born in the wonderful country of the dead factories. In
2002, he founded SMeltery
“Labor At War” : a font factory with a taste of tanguy dark
plum. Active member of the TT group, he co-settled in 2005 the artistic
group Sainte-Machine,
which whom he’s active in the streets of Bordeaux. Since the end
of 2005, Jack Usine has lived and worked at GUsto
(Garcia Usine studio). During his free time, he trys to improve his
practice of the funny
word-plays.
Geronto: how ? why ?
“Geronto was an old alphabet lost in a church of Lille who has
been revived. He was there, alone, in a cold and dark corner. I saw
him and warmed him with the friendly flash of my Nikon camera. The same
day, in a flea market, I met someone who has become her ornemental partner.
She could be found here and there, in the pages of an old catholic almanach
of 1891.
I took both of them with me back to Bordeaux where I married
them some months later.
Geronto is a very sexy centenarian couple !”
